Playing Around With Shutter Speed And Aperture

For this set of photos I played around with shutter speed and the aperture of the camera.

For the first set of photos with people jumping of of ledges it was mainly the shutter speed I was altering (the only reason I had to change the aperture was because by slowing the shutter speed it let more light into the lens and I also had to reduce the ISO). The photos where the person is jumping and no blurring has occurred were taken at a shutter speed of 1/500th second which froze the subject in mid air. However the photos where the person jumping is blurry and as if there was clear motion were taken with a shutter speed of 1/10th second.

The latter photos i was focusing on playing with the aperture, ergo selecting the depth at which the photographs were in focus. The photos with a long depth of field has the smaller aperture, where as the photos where the background has been blurred out have a larger aperture and the focus of the photo is entirely drawn to the foreground.
